Hello

Had my keys stolen last night and im stuck without a spare for my starlet. I have got a spare key fob so i can get in and out of the vehicle with the remote central locking, but i need to be able to get the ignition turned on to move the car (its currently parked in town!)

What will be the easiest way for me to get the car started so i can get it home without the key.

Is it possible to remove the barrel while locked? I have heard people saying abouting drilling the lock.

What would you suggest, need help quick!!

unfortunately mate, to remove the barrel without damage you will need the key
(assuming they are the same as the rest of the toyota range)
you need to have the key in the correct position then push a pin on the coloumn to remove the barrel

EDIT:btw do you have any breakdown cover? just get it recovered to your house for now rather than have to cause damage to start the car

im in a bit of a pickle with this one, how can i start it to get it home without the key, anyone have any advice. I am parked on a single yellow line and will get a ticket if i cant move it!

I want advice before i start destroying the existing barrel, is it tap a screw driver in job, drilling? whats best and how to do it.

I tryed the breakdown cover, AA told me that as i had lost the keys they would only recommend a locksmith to get it home for me.

Stick a random key in the barrell and snap it inside, theyve got no choice to take it back to your house as your classed as stuck!

cheapest way is to just pay the tow truck to come get it and drop it off at your house. Wouldnt waste my time trying to break the barrel you could do more harm then good.
