In realtion to the same question, does 1.2 bar on a hybrid have the same damaging effects on the pistons as 1.2 bar on a TD04 as in is the heat caused the same?

1.1 bar is about 15psi.
1.1 bar is 16.5psi. With a stock bottom end, even with good fueling & management 16.5psi on a tdo4 is pushing the limits of the 4efte. I wouldn't run more than 12-13psi max with a larger turbine like that without forging. Others have seen reliable power at 15psi with a very good tune, over here that is more the exception than the rule.

well all depends on managment u r using and if u have fuel for 15psi. went i first got my car i got TD04H and run 15psi with 440cc injectors and Emanage blue it work very good on til i did 5E project.

lol nitewalker....i know the conversion

BUT i'm just curious as to how people always say XXpsi or YYbar is safe to run or not run for that matter

i just dont beleive it works that way ........and with good reason......again the terms reasonable, reliable, relative all come to mind

all depends on your engines condition, how often you use the car, what feuling setup you use shit probly even what grade of feul you use. its all variables theirs an advisable safe limit and a personal one dependent on the car itself at that current moment in time.

thats my 2 cents

Na it doesnt I am afraid guys if you try running 1.1 bar on a TD04 on standard internals even with a good tune your going to crack pistons very quickly.

i ran 1.1 bar for over 18months and ran 1.2 on the dragstrip, bottem end is still in tack today but its been replaced by a 1.5 :p however i dont recomend running that high unless your prepaired for conciquences. most people seem to run 1bar with a good managments system.
