FE engine is nuclear proof. Ive seen 1 kick about for 3 weeks with only 1 litre of oil in it,no rattles or nothing. Im sure a few miles getting abit hot wont harm it :drive:

I've tried to slack the power steering belt but I can't manage to do it.

Is it the 14mm nut at the back, near the engine block that needs to be slackened?

I've found the bolt but there is no bloody way on earth to open it!!! Anybody shed some light? I've tried every spanner, socket, extension and flexi with no joy.

dat happened me before bud.. i think its your altinator not charging your battery. or the belt coming off da altinator is very loose on not there anymore

guess you didn't read the thread and missed the post where he found his belt was off? lol

Rory, it was the bolt to adjust the power steering pump.

Fitted it last night anyway, and she is a survivor!! :rockon:
