Hello,
I have a 94 paseo with the 4efte turbo motor in it. about a month ago I put the 89 non turbo supra fuel injectors in the car because I was using non turbo injectors and was running lean. But I did not do engine damage because I used my apex-I to adjust the fuel. But now with the supra injectors in I have been running them for about month now. And my motor has three cylinders that are running rich and as soon as my motor hits about 5 pounds of boost then my motor starts to load up real bad and my check engine light comes on for about two or three seconds and then goes out as soon as I let off the gas. But I only have a loading up problem only when I start to push boost. I first thought it was timing but I checked it and it is fine I have new spark plug wires and plugs. But I was wondering if my fuel pressure regulator which is off a non turbo 5e paseo which I don`t know if there is a difference between a non turbo and turbo fuel pressure regulator or if the 5e and 4efte have a different one. I have a auto meter o2 gauge it as been showing me that I am running right in the middle of starch and rich. I pulled me spark plugs out and checked them And they were all black. But I know it is not the apex because I zeroed all the air/fuel parts on the apex which controls how much fuel is dumped in my motor. but I don`t know what to do. Please help me. I would like to get my car running great.

im guessing u have the 4e ecu or a piggy back?? has the paseo ecu wont see boost so could be confusing it causing ecu light.

Also could be a faulty plug like stuck open causing it to run quite rich im sure ppl who have done the conversion will know better im goin by what i know tbh

think the ep91 ecu will plug into the 5e loom not the ep82.if some one can step in here on this 80%sure:confused:

His current wire loom will not work with either the EP91 or EP82 ECUS without some re-wiring. To get the Paseo ECU to work with this engine he will need to connect a check valve to the standard Paseo map sensor. If you go to tercelonline.com you will see pictures showing you how to do it. A few people use a check valve taken from a brake booster and others use either two or three fish tank check valves. This is a crude and incorrect way which requires trial and error but it will allow the car to run 6PSI. There are choices of course, buy the eManage Ultimate and piggy back it to the Paseo ECU or rewire the loom and fit the 4EFTE ECU. Or use a stand alone ECU.

If I get a ep82 4efte ECU and use my 5e wiring harness then what will I have to modify to make it work and will I be able to use all the factory sensors and distributor from the 5e motor?

yea but its long winded and u will get better performance from a unichip and im not to sure on the map sensor etc if it will work the same

Need a new MAP sensor, Paseo's only good for 5 psi...

If you haven't done that you're car's fuel should be cutting, not dumping... mine had after my swap. Wouldn't fuel once the ct9 reached 5psi and would lean out.

Threw in a MAP from a 1st gen turbo MR2 to solve it.

Also, loom's not gonna work with the Paseo ECU, you need an ECU from the turbo 4E, and you're going to have to get, or splice in yourself, that check valve.

Not much more information on the loom/ECU as mine was done for me, sorry.
