Need some help please

Ok, here's the situation. I sold my car a few months ago to someone on here, i don't know user name as he called me. Well just got a parking offence from the police through the mail and then called up the motor tax office and found out the car is still registered in my name. I gave the log book at the sale and the guy said he would send it off but obviously didn't. I can't get in contact with the new owner, and i called the garda enquires and they said i need a statement from the tax office saying i don't own the car but i can't get that as its still registered in my name. Anyone got any ideas on what to do? Thanks.

You were meant to keep the log book when u sold the car and send that off yourself. you should have given the new owner the new keepers supplement to keep.

havent any advice for your situation really. Try ringing the DVLA and see what they say.

Have you no proof that you sold the car on?

Have you phoned DLVA and explained to them whats happened?
