im hoping someone can spread some light on my current situation.

in my first year of driving i did pass plus, so in my first year i had 0ncb and pass plus. i then went on to earn a years ncb at the end of the year.

in my second year of driving i used the same insurers. i completeted another year of claim free driving.

i have recently insured my glanza assuming that i have 2 year ncb. i have been waiting for my proof of ncb to come from my previous insurers.

well it arrived today stateing that i have 3 year ncb.

how come 3ncb? i thought pass plus was only counted in the first year and then gets wiped off?

what do i do now, shall i ring my new insurers and tell them i actually have 3ncb? what do i tell them if they say " how is that possible when you have only had a licence for 2 years"???

im confused.

Hi Hun,

With most insurers your pass plus gives you an automatic discount usually equal to 1 ncb. I would guess that the insurance company you are with counts this as an extra year.

If your new insurance ask tell them its because with ur old insurer your pass plus gives you the equivlent of 1 year. You can insure a car before you have your full licence with some companies so to have 3 years could just mean that you had ur own car to learn to drive in a year before getting your full licence. Also double check your licence years as some insurance companies count from when you got ur provisional licence as licence years as well.

If in any doubt to there decision then check with your old insurer before confirming it with the new one but if it gets u an extra years ncb = less for you to pay :) and more money for up and coming mods Lol :)

Hope this helps

Sammie :)

Hun, your most welcome, I thought that might be the case :) as that was what they used to do where I worked :) Glad I could help Lol enough left for round of drinks Lol hehe(only jking) :)

Mate thats awesome! I think I'll do pass plus when the time comes too :D

Yes hun, go for it, altho it will only be of use to you if your insurance policy is your name and not fronted (for those of u who won't understand what I mean: Fronted is when ur mum/dad has the policy but for instance they don't ever drive the car but your on a named driver who generally doesn't use the car as much but ur the main user). But I reckon it will give you a good advantage especially if its the startlet you wil be insuring as it will exspensive anyway:)
