o-ring question

i got one there for my car.same diameter but its thinner,will this make any odds??also is there any way to check the old ring as it doesnt seem to be damaged??

old one is probably just crushed flat then gone hard. if whe you put the new on in you can feel some resistance from the o ring touching the sides of the hole then it should seal fine.

does the original seal usually fill up the whole space(width wise) where it sits in on the distributor?

off the top if my head i cant remember mate. i think there is a bit of room to allow for compression when it is fitted!
