Hello,

Just joined the Forum, hoping to buy a Glanza in the next couple of weeks providing I pass my test in the morning :)

Any Advice From you guys on what to look for etc.

Hoping to spend about £2000 as the Insurance is probably going to be a further £2000 from the looks of things

Regards,

Ellis

welcome mate,

Good luck with your, test how old are you?

As for things to look for with any starlet heres a couple, im sure others will add more:
Smokey turbo (although white smoke on start up is normal)
check the electric windows and mirrors, from past experience the window motors on starlets get pretty shit in age.
The doors drop on alot of starlets but its no real biggy.
Water in the rear tyre well, again this is no biggy alot of jap cars accumulate water here but it should be drained through a bung they have. i had a good 2 litres in mine!
Dont believe any BHP figures without a dyno print out, most people will try bullshit you with sky high figures.
Dont buy one unless your willing to throw money at it, they do go wrong and its not always a cheap fix.
I dont know any where starlets are particulaly prone to rust, although its always goood to have a proper look at the underside.
My ep82 was my first car at 18 and cost me 3.5k to insure but it was worth every penny. £2k is a bit of a low budget for a glanza but they do come up occasionaly.

good luck
hope this helps a bit!
