oil leak

there seems to be oil building up on the top of my gear box and i dont know were its coming from any ideas

Try getting some pictures of it up and I'm sure someone will be able to help you out

You sure it's oil? i had a similar problem a few weeks back and when i actually bothered checking it out my cv boot inner had split and was spraying grease all over the gearbox.

could be from the distributor? if the seal is gone it can leak onto that kinda area?

It probably coming from distributor ; if the bottom of dis has oil on it & thermostat housing filthy with oil then dis is leaking. so time to get a new O-RING for dis shaft. change mine 2 days ago same prob. so check it.

it could also be the rocker cover o-ring.

Sounds like it's coming from the distributor, there's an o-ring be hind it that could not be sealing, I had this on mine and oil went on top of the gearbox,
All I did is Mark the distrib where it is, (I.e draw a line on the top where it meets the head cause don't want 2get that out of time), pull the distrib out and put sealant around the p-ring put it bk and that fixed it,
Try that mate,
