oil temp gauge

hello everyone

i am thinking of getting a oil temp gauge for my starbo but i have been told not to put the sensor in the sump plug where would you put it

Not sure. Google them.

Not all of them fit mind. I had an anodised red Mocal one and it fit fine. Got it from a seller on ebay called Matt Lewis Racing.

oil sandwich plate didnt fit on my glanza, power steering bracket is in the way. cant see that there's anything wrong with the sump plug sensor

Wouldn't put it in the sump plug you wont get an accurate reading, if your getting a mechanical sensor then use the t-piece method from the stock oil pressure sensor point.
Or if electrical use a sandwich plate as the sensors are quite big and wont fit by the oil pressure switch

How about a stone hitting it and breaking off the sensor causing you to lose all your oil very quickly. Its a very vulnerable place to have something like that.

i run a HKS oil temp gauge with a Greddy sandwich plate works for me :)

as stated don't go with the sump bung it's very open and venerable to being riped out, you could tap a hole in the side of the sump so it's more out the way but for the effort involved you might as well fit a sandwich plate or use t-piece the oil pressure sensor
