no experience with that brand piston but we set piston clearance to 0.004 and ring gap to 14 thou top 16 thou bottom. oil rings were already finished.

this was on ross pistons.

do you have the equations for your pistons? for ross it worked out:

top ring
2.933 x 0.004 + 0.004 = 0.015732

bottom ring.
2.933 x 0.005 + 0.004 = 0.018665

after following advice from a local engine builder and after consulting ross themselves we decided to tighten the gaps a little to prevent excessive blowby.

as i said, i don't know how these figures will compare to your pistons but they may help

i set mine very similar to ian's as above but i did all my mesurements in points of an inch my mate worked it out to about 14 and 17 thou

mine as Wiseco pistons
