the trd helical has a coin like metal piece in the centre...like in the pic below
http://www.tercelreference.com/tercel_info/component_library/c5x_helical_lsd_2.jpg
BUT the reason i did not say this above in my post...was because i'm not sure how the quaife lsd looks in the centre,,,,,,so such a statement could be misleading
does anyone know how the centre section of the quaife looks?
Yeah, i was talking about the trd one. hehehe, haven't had much experience with quaiffe tho.
this is amusing reading/guessing, why post when you dont know/are contradicting eachother?
A fully locked diff will turn both wheels when you try to turn one, 'Limited' slip diffs are exactly what they seem.....limited! So spinning one wheel by hand is rarely going to prove much as you are not generating enough torque to lock a diff of these ages. Depending on the sensitivity of the lsd will determine if the wheels travel the same direction
Open diff wheels will spin opposite direction when in air
guyz i have some LSD but m not shure which one.. when both wheels in air and if i rotate one wheel..the other will go in the same direction... i have one prob.. its when i m turning the car the it sounds like the axel will break out.but i went to the axel guy many time , he checked it a lot of times , even replaced my axels but the sound is still there..can any one help
so if i understand well there is 2 type of LSD? "fully locked" and "limited" ?? never heard of this but its good to learn nwe things... however OEM limited slip turns both wheels when you try and turn one of them. (same way ob)
