quick question about tyre sizes

sure this has already been asked somewhere but i cant find it.

what tyre size would anyone recommend for a set of 15" alloys?

cheers.

ok, cheers for that, its got 50's on it just now but theyre scrubbing at the back if theres weight over the rear wheels. would you recommend i go for 45's then?

The most popular alround choice is 195/50/15

However if scrubbing then you could try 45 series but expect to pay alot more for this size than the 50s.

It also might not cure the problem! has the car been lowered by any chance?

Dont be so sure about the 45s being more costly i use them as they are cheaper at our local bush tyre and exhaust i pay £176 for 4 toyo t1r 195/45/15 and the 50s are over £200 he tells me this is due to the company buy the 45s in huge stock so can offer discounts with them where as the 50s in the t1r they order and collect them as an when they need them so cannot offer any discount ;) so always worth asking them if they will do you discount for 4 ;)

If you were to try and keep to the stock overall tyre circumferance - then 195/45R15 is the closest tyre.

However, most people (me included) use 195/50R15) and it has several benefits... Slightly better ride (touch more sidewall flex) better choice of tyres, and best bit - they are cheaper! For example a 195/50R15 toyo is about 30-32 from camskill, 195/45 tends to be sme 40% more expensive so like £45 a tyre. If D-P is getting 4 fitted for 176 then that is a pretty damn good price tbh! But most places would be other way round!!

Im a tyre fitter and sell many of these tyres daily (1955015) and trust me they are cheaper.
