quick question for batterry removal

has anyone removed there batt holder out of starlet and does it weaken your engine mount found this pic on uksc was wondering what ye guys think??

looks ok. if you make a nice job of it and make sure its nice and strong where you chop off the battery tray it should be fine.

you could probably get away with chopping the tray part off but leaving the steel related to the strength of the mounting point intact.

i was just out looking at it again and like above with the steel welded across the top if i fully remove it theres a piece of steel only half covering the mount would i just be better to do the above to be on the safe side??

just go for it mate. as long as its a nice strong weld then it should be fine. looks neat enough
