rattle under the bonnet

wen my car is on idle i have bad rattle under the bonnet but dont know where from? it comes and goes but doesnt rattle atal with slight rev.any ideas????

Perhaps a heat shield rattling about.

im takin it down to drren burwash on thursday to have a fmic fitted would he know just by listening to it?

If your taking it there mate then darren will sort you out no probs.

Is your car running okay?If it is the could be something as simple as a heat shield.

Sounds stupid mate but I had the same problem, rattling on idle and it was the bonnet stay that had come out of its little catch rattling around, sounds silly but check it out.

Had a similar problem every now and again. turned out to be my air filter that was vibrating against the bottom half of the old airbox.

just go round the engine bay - holding different things until it stops then you know what it is
