Re-cutting valve seats ?

As I said on the other side of the water mate, ideally it would take a lot of patients and money to get the angles correctly flowing for your setup. Would need to be placed on a flow bench to test every cut.

Do a 3 angle valve cut while your at it. It's probably best to leave it to your machinest to tell you what angles, but as I recommend a good starting point will be the 60 bottom cut, you could try a 55, a valve seat of 45 and a top cut of 30, you could decrease the angle on the top cut to aid a little more flow due to the more acute angle.

very rarely would you need to re-cut the valve seats if your using the original valves. surely you can just lap them in with a bit of a grinding paste???

Depends how badly pitted the valve face and seat is, you can only do so much when lapping the valves. Personally I take the view that if you can't get an acceptable finish from lapping a valve by hand for 2 or 3 minutes, then ideally it needs to be re-cut.
