rear brakes help.

hows it going all.
i went out to my car dismorning and went to go driveing and my rear brakes would not let go of the discs.i put the handbrake down and thare was loads of play as in it felt like it was doing noting.it was frezing last night as well.
is dis normal it has never hapend before and a mate just told me it happend to him today as well.
any help whit dis would be gr8.

i had this problem yesterday i poured some hot water on the back brakes and used some plyers to release the handbrake cable. and now i just leave it in gear overnight . :)
