recommend me some heatwrap please!!!

looking to get some heatwrap for my td04 manifold and there seems to be an endless choice.

there is cheap shit and expensive shit. is the cheap shit fine to use? no point paying over the odds if there is nothing to be gained from it.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Im no expert but both heatwraps work, obviously the more expensive stuff holds the heat in better and will last longer as its made of better materials and most of the time its thicker than the cheaper stuff.
One of my mates bought the cheap stuff off ebay in the summer there and heatwraped all of his exhaust up front and its lasted so far and made a bit of an improvement over the turbo lag and spool response.

I've just bought some of the titanium braid stuff off ebay for 27 quid. bought some cheap stuff in march and it lasted and still is lasting tbh just changing as I've got a new set up

i wrapped my soon to be td04 manifold with cheep ebay heat wrap...

and i fully wrapped my decat and japspeed and its holding up fine but i would us jubilee clips to hold it on.

good job you did there mate. im using a cheapo ebay TD04 mani and decat went for stainless but due to my fmic setup am heatwrapping it now anyway so should have really gone mild steel, but nevermind

Whats the reason behind this? Is mild steel better than stainless when wrapped or is it just aesthetics you are talkin about?

I wrapped my DP with DEI. Never had any experience with others but it seemed to be very tough and of good quality.

DEI and THERMOTECH ar the best heat wraps they will last alot longer than cheap ones.

just aesthetics mate. mild steel is more suited to the constant heating and cooling of a manifold, but went for stainless for looks. now i am wrapping it it wouldnt really matter

Guess its good i m not going for stainless then coz i m definitely wrapping it. Also gonna be DEI. Highly recommend it!

Better do it at the beggining and be done with it once and for all...!

Only ever used thermotec also,,find it brilliant and couldnt fault it...

i used the cheapish stuff off ebay i got enough to do whole exhaust , decat and mani delivered with enough ties for less then £30

altho it didnt stay black for too long
