REDUCING LOW RPM LAG on stock turbo, stock engine

Hi everyone, I know a similar thread has been put up by Gee but I didn't want to hijack it since it had developed quite a bit.

Lately, I have been bothered by the lag at low rpm, that's just when you put your foot down.

I have been thinking the following things might help reduce lag but I want you guys to access this and tell me where I am wrong.

Note: No changes to engine internals and/or turbo is desired.

1. increasing fuel at low rpm.
2. changing stock exhaust manifold to an aftermarket one.
3. putting bit bigger injectors than stock.

What else, if any?

bigger injectors wont make it spool up quicker
there only for when your injectors cant cope with the air ( boost ) going into the engine thats when you go for bigger injectors and more fuel at low rpm wont do anything it will make it run rich and just waste fuel

a decat and manifold would proberbly help a tiny bit but nothing massive

Wow if you think you get lag on a standard tubby......go in a quick car with a big tubby and see what lag means...........

what? does it mean none of you have felt it on a ct9??? I am not joking. I know about lag on bigger turbos that is why I am so concerned about lag on my stock ct9b.

this is true, there is very little lag with the ct9.

uprated exhaust mani and decat, with that the turbo will be ready to spool at about 2500 rpm. Which really is cruising rpm...?

Coming from quite a few N/a cars to a Glanza I can also say there is very little lag with the CT9.

Unless your trying to accelerate in 5th at 30mph and calling that lag?

I think theres something wrong mate! With stock TMIC, stock turbo, stock everything there is next to no lag. Unless like someone said, your in 5th and trying to accelerate! lol

Maybe your turbos fooked?

Oh common I am not that bad. but now I putting a couple of things together, my car gives off blunt missing type sound at high revs which seems to be starving, could it be that when I put my foot down from low rpm it starts to starve and cause lag thereafter?

does engien management light come on when you get the missing sound?

if so your hitting fuel cut, which means cars running more than standard boost.

go out for a run and check your revs should be on boost about 2500rpm which you wouldnt really notice mate tbh

sounds like either your ht leads are nackered

your spark plugs

or your dizzy cap

or could be a combination of all 3

get some uprated leads

I have been told that starving is due to fpr or fuel pump, more likely the latter one. its not missing its starving so cant be this 3.
