Remove old Cat

Hi,

I want to look at fitting a decat pipe (not bought yet) Looking at the old Cat it loks as though it would foul the gearbox when trying to remove it, do I need to pull the manifold forward to get clearance or is there another way?

alright mate you can fit a decat in under an hour its a doddle.
Just undo the nuts joining it to the exhaust then the nuts joining it to the turbo and the 2 bracing bolts and twist it so the top half goes towards the passenger side and the bottom towards the drivers and lower it down the way and out the bottom of the car.bear in mind you'll need the appropriate socket for removing the lambda sensor but you might get away with a 22mm ring spanner and some fine thread m10 bolts as its a complete arse trying to remove the old studs from the cat to reuse them.hope that helps bud

Also after loosing everything, the cat looks as though it won't clear the gearbox, just keep moving it around a pull hard! Can be tough!
