replacing spark plug oil seals

hi guys! i've opened my rocker cover and replaced the cover gasket and spark plugs oil seals with new ones. what i like to know is if i have replaced the spark plug oil seals properly. i had a very hard time pushing the seals all the way to the top and applying brute force might damage the seals. what i did was simply positioned/placed the seals on their respective slots tight enough to keep them steady when i put the cover back on. is this how the seals should be replaced or shout it be push all the way up? thanks for the inputs guys!

Dont push them all the way as they wont seal and you wont get them back down without damaging them. Just tap them in until they are in enough to not stick out.
