has anybody done this before, mine have gone i think as my friend looked through the holes where the exhaust maifold goes on and he could see little bits of oil on top of the valves. taking the head off will be too expensive for me is the alternative a good idea if i get a mechanic to do it?

thanks

I didnt relise you could do valve stem seals with head on oh well you learn something new everyday. It's not as expessive as you think to take the head offall you need is the gaskets and do the labour yourself if you can. i would go with head off option because you run a real chance of something going wrong then you will have to take head off anyways.hope you manage to sort it anyways:rolleyes:

I have done this twice and i will be doing it this weekend to remove those speedvision valve springs. You just need to have the correct valve tool.
