Rev Counter Problemo..

Hi All,

I have a small problem with my car, recently Ive noticed that the rev counter is about 1,000rpm out, but the counter would go all the way upto say 6k.

Yesterday I noticed the car would rest at around 500rpm, and rev upto about 3krpm.

Today It rests when the engine on at 0rpm, when I accelerate it maxes out at around 2krpm.

Does anyone know whats happening? The spedo is fine and all the clocks appear to work.

Recently I've been having flat battery issues but I replaced it on monday and all seems well, could this be related? Where does it get the rev signal? Distributer cap?

Check all the screws are tight on the back of the combination meter. Pay particular attention to the ones located at the rear of the rev counter (circled in red), but you may as well check them all whilst your there.

Don't over tighten the screws though, they only need to be nipped up.
