Rev up problem please help

Hello I've taken my car to the garage and had the head skimmed and pressure tested. And then new gaskets and bolts. I've just gone to pick it up it's running sweet on tick over but when you put the throttle down it takes about 16 years to pick up. Is this a fuel problem, ignition, or like a vacuum. What does it sound like it is. Thanks.

Sounds like the timing could be out, id check that first.

That's def on my mind but it's running so nice on tick over.

It will do though, i had the exact same thing on my old polo 16v years ago. Got a new head put on it and they left the timing out a tooth, it was like waiting for old age on the thing reving up

Cool. That's it then. The timing was fine before I took it to the garage then when I got it back he told me I had the timing out 2 teeth. I was like oh. I took it around the block flat out in first gear I was doing about 5 mile an hour. So cool basically I had the timing right and he was wrong. Thanks mate.
