ross ring end gap

Could a few people share what ring end gap they grinded the rings to..doesnt't matter what size pistons

according to the spec sheet with the rings

top ring
bore size in inches x 0.004 + 0.004 (for turbo app)

bottom

bore size in inches x 0.005 + 0.004 (for turbo app)

now, after some research and consultation with a race engine builder and Ross themselves we gapped to 0.014 top, 0.016 bottom on 2.933 (74.5mm) bore size, which is roughtly 2 thou below spec.

ok cool..i just found your other thread posts...i did read the instructions but thought that the gaps seemed too BIG and i did sumting wrong

to be honest so did we, that's why we gapped tighter. even as these specs the engine still breathes slightly on the heavy side.

it's a tricky one and we're not 100% ourselves, so i would advise more research and maybe even contact ross yourself to be straight in your own mind.
