basically i did a trackday thing last week, drove a 300hp impreza blobeye, and fuckin loved it. totally fell in love with the car...was just wondering if any scooby or evo owners are on here (current owners or previous) and would care to share their experiences with the cars.

was looking at this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-IMPREZA-STI-TYPE-R-VERSION-4-LIMITED-SONIC-BLUE-/220632228602?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item335eb4a2fa

i know nuthing about subarus or evos, but this one looks gd. didnt know that model had forged internals and 300hp from factory tho...

any1 on here that knows a good model scooby or evo let me know. if i went for it would be after about 300-350hp

Scoobys are great, that type in particular is considered one of the best ever made, basically a rawer p1 has the diff control, i/c waterspray few other bits. There reliable as long as you maintain them, make sure they have been mapped to take the uk fuel they are notorious for the bottom end going. The maf's are a weak spot as well but if you use the guide below it will tell you if it needs replacing there quite pricey for a new one.

Thought id send you this on as well handy to know.
If you want to do a diagnostics check on your car, go down to the foot pedals steering rack area and you should see two black connectors and two green. To do a diagnostics plug the black ones together and turn the ignition on (don't turn the engine on) if all is clear the engine check should blink in half second intervals. If there are any problems for example 23 the light will flash slow twice and then 3 quick flash's.

Thats all the codes there.

To reset the ecu.
Ensure engine is at normal operating temperature, turn engine off
Locate the two ECU connectors, located under the steering column and consist of a black plastic male and female connector, and a green male female connector
With the ignition OFF connect black to black and green to green.
Turn on ignition, do not start the engine, depress the accelerator pedal to full throttle, then return it to the half-throttle position and hold for a few seconds, and then release
Engine Check lamp turns on
Start engine and then drive for at least one minute, keeping road speed above 11 Km/h.
ECU is now re-set.
At this point the check engine light should start to flash the all clear signal (steady 1/2 second interval flashes). If the check engine light does not flash, or indicates some other sequence, there is a fault present in the system, and should be professionally checked for necessary repairs.
Stop the car and turn off the engine.
Disconnect the black and green connectors.
Job complete.
