Screamer sound vs wastegate

Hi all

I just want to know if I changed my external waste gate if the screamer sound would change

Reason being. I don't really like the sound of my zisco screamer. I'm also thinking about lengthening the pipe so try and change the sound

Any info would be much appreshiated

I doubt the wastegate will make a difference but making the pipe longer should

It sounds like an air leak to me. I thought it would have sounded more screaming like lol.

Sounds good from outside the car, I just don't like it from inside

get a bend in the pipe thatl make it sould slightly different. i dont run a pipe at all n sounds quite strange lol

If your running one of those, pointless things where there is an extra dump tube coming from the decat it will sound like its blowing.

Essentially is the same principle as having a hole in your exhaust.

If your actually running a proper external gate, best thing to do is to bend it, or make it longer. I know some of the Zisco ones are quite short.

But you won't be as you've an ewg. The wastegate is just a valve, it won't change the noise.

Adjusting the tube length and/or adding bends will slightly alter the sound but you're never gonna change it drastically.

What don't you like about it? Too raspy?

i am running a external waste gate and the screamer is very short. about an inch. i wouldn't say it "screams" just a horrible airy noise. was expecting a better sound to be honest. running 1 bar on a td04

Yeah try extending it down to the floor of the engine bay. Be careful not to angle it towards the car as they spit flames and will ruin your front member panels lol.
