I just read it and cant see anywhere where it says it doesnt, unless you want it to effect the amount of light the headlight gives out then do it.

seen one done over here.. with indicators also. was sprayed with laquere + a bit of black paint

yeah bit of a vw thing, remove the lense and spray most of the inside of the headlight leaving a little bit of reflective then clue the lense back on, not to keen on it myself but each to your own
