smoking on overrun

hi lads what would be causing my car to smoke on over run? car doesn't smoke on idle or acceleration also running td04l which was rebuilt before fitting and compression test is ok.

Had a similar problem a while ago running CT9, turned out to be a piston ring. A compression test would rule this out though. And as far as I know valve stem seals might cause smoke on overrun too, but don't quote me on that.
 
when you first start the car on mornings do you get any smoke?----potential valve stem seals
and i'm not referring to condensation from the muffler

Sounds like valve stem oil seals. Could be worn rings, but you would get smoke on boost too

hi lads got her sorted it was the oil stem seals were gone, when I dropped the valves out the oil stem seal just fell off the valve guide on the exhaust side.
