got a cheap £4 cable off ebay and was pleased with it until today. was playing fallout 3 and the screen started to flick off now and again. thought it was a bit odd so checked the hdmi cable. moved it about and the picture went on and off.

took the cable right out, refitted it and it barely works. lucky to even get a picture. can anyone recommend a decent hdmi cable that will last longer than about 3 days without breaking down?

TBH it doesnt matter if you spend £10 or £110, the picture quality will always be the same, so dont go out and spend stupid amount on the cable

i think he means the quality, i bought a 15 quid one from argos and it does the same tbh, but it isnt so bad only does it every now and again.

its a pain in the ass tho isnt it, just need to keep it still best as possible

i know that mate. just want one that someone has used before thats lasted more than 5 mins.

mine lasted about 2-3 days. in total, about 6 hours use.

like i said, was happy with the picture quality, just not the lifespan

was perfectly still, was plugged into the TV. did it once and didnt pay much attention to it. then it stayed off for a few seconds and came back. was ok for about 15 mins then did it again. it now barely works at all.

Ixos cables are always good! come with a lifetime warranty too so if it messes up you can replace it!

ixos lead
that lead is £50 in the shop i work in, good lead though!!

pay a little bit more for the lead and will make the whole experiance better! its not as important with HDMI leads cos they send a digital signal but can always make a difference! thats why £150 versions exist but i think that lead above is a good choice, obv go with a cheaper one if you want but mine on my PS3 has never flicked ever! :)

im sure the picture quality isnt £50 worth better than the standard composite lead. ive got this cable working again for now. if it pisses up again ill replace it with a slightly better one (£10-£15)

A university in Holland did a test last month. If your lead is shorter than 5meters, you won't notice any difference and your better off buying a cheap one.

i know that mate. just want one thats going to last more than 2 days. looked in tescos when i went shopping and their cheap cable for £10 was exactly the same as my £4 ebay cable.

dont want to get ripped off, but dont want to keep buying a £4 cable every month

True, just buy a simple one locally. If it's bad you can return it. Think you just had bad luck with your current one.

iv got two one for the 360 which is a phillips one from asda for about 11 quid and the other for the dvd player which is a cheaper one for about 4 quid the phillips one has never let me down but on 1080p with the dvd player the cheap one flickers then when i put the phillips in it doesnt, go to asda and get a phillips one imo.cheap and lasted me about 9 months on my dvd and the last few weeks on my 360 and still going strong.

Dont spend more than £20, all these monster cables give it all the gumph, at the end of the day, if it recieves the signal it works - its the build quality people pay for..

I picked mine up from asda for about £10, worked perfectly for a year now, not sure wht make tho!!
