Starlet popping/banging

Hello guys, a have a starlet glanza and so does my mate, his will pop and bang and mine won't we both have decat he has a silencer as well and mines just straight through 2.5" also have lots of other mods, just can't understand why this is, can anyone help??

Ur mates car might be over fueling or running rich.
Are you both using the same engine management?

Yeah mate if anything mine should be the one that's pops, the only thing he's got and I haven't is a fuel pressure regulator!

Your mates car is probably running rich thats why its poping and banging and the FPR will be responsible for this.
My car only pops and shoots out a small flame when im changing gears at high revs.

What they're saying is pops and bangs may look and sound cool but means something isn't right. Don't tune your car to pop

Yeah I suppose mate, umm are fuel pressure regulator good to have though and if so could anyone tell me a setting for one or do you set it for your engine?

The issue can be fuel burning in the exhaust ( timing and afr also effect this ) a hot exhaust with some restriction can accumulate fuel vapour more readily and burn with a bigger pop than a free flowing exhaust.

if your has an EMU like you have said in previous posts, the chances are YOUR car will be the one running correctly, if it has a good map, why you would want to now increase fuel pressure, to try and run too rich for pops and bangs is beyond me...
