I just checked it on my google earth. Kon's right you measured past the finish line.
So i thought i'd measure it a bit more investigation has left me with a 5 meter drop over the last 220 meters of the track.

The first half is a struggle but it's all down hill from there on.

yeah thats what they are trying to say to excuse their times

then if its so how come the maltese truck did the world record there for speed and quarter mile time? Pod must be more than a 20ft drop downhill then ! amd so a gt that at halfar does 11.4 would run high 10 sec runs at pod

finished with your halfar jokes dyl?? lol

i dont think that it will effect that much in times. its more of the weather conditions we have over here. even in jamaica they have same times as ours.

hey I only joke about other peoples dragstrips because we dont even have a track in Ireland :p

and if we ever decide to build one it will probably have an S bend in the middle "did you hear the one about the Irish QTR mile track... it has an S bend half way up it"

You gotta be able to poke fun at yourself and others :)

I just chose what looks like the end of the track but as you can see I was damn close to being 400 metre (I didn;t measure maker to marker, I measure 400 metres from marker 1 but at the altitude i was at 400.09 metres was as good as I could get), about 3-4 metres over. So if the finish line is much more beofre that it seems that Hal Far isn't even a quarter mile!

I'll remember this thread as the one that coined a new phrase - its no longer "making a mountain out of a mole hill" but making a hal far out of a mole hill
