Sticking in first gear!

So I'm having a bit if a nightmare recently and it seems to be one problem after another! I was driving home this evening and my car is very stuff to get out of first gear, I really have to pull it out hard, it does not happen on the spot, it goes into all gears fine and when driving it's fine apart from coming out of first gear! Going into first is fine! Any suggestions on this? Getting desperate now and just want it to be smooth running for a little while!

Well man, it could be gear linkage or a syncro in the box, do any gears crunch on u, i would check the linkages first.

No, no gears have crunched on me? And if I'm idling it goes in and out of all gears fine? It's only when I pull away in first and go to change to second I have to pull it really hard and it comes out with a "thump" and then goes into second fine? What sort of things should I check on the linkages? May be a dumb question burin have never even looked at them before.

There just at the top of the gearbox, get someone to put it in and out of 1st gear while u have a look at them for anything strange, i neer had bother with them before all the same, some fresh gear oil might make a difference also.

Check the condition of the rear motor mount. If it's shot, the engine rotates a lot and can make changing gears a bit stiff.

A couple of things, Iv been looking at the selector as it goes into gear and seems pretty smooth, Iv also been trying to figure out if the slave cylinder is working properly, it seems to be but is a bit creaky, what the best way to check this? I mean it moves?

Also how would I check if the mounts f@"&ed? Just remove it and check for damage?

Finally I have take this pic as the gator has come off from the selector going into the gear box, can this cause me issues?

u know where u checked the rubber theres a cube there to in the linkage if it is worn it will stiffen up /make it harder to change gears

Took it out and mine does not have a "cube" it has like a piece of plastic that slots over a round "stud" type thing?
