Stubborn swirl marks on GT

Alright guys, any recommendations for products to use on heavily swirling on 205 black.

I've recently got a DA polisher with hex pads and just wanted to see if anyone has done this before with good results

Which DA did you got for Matty? I've just bought a cheap rotary, but thinking about returning it for a DA as it weighs a tonne.

Try Poorboys Black hole. Usually does wonders on black cars.

Got a dodo juice one, yeah the rotary one can cause damage if not used correctly but it's harder to damage paint with a DA.

Tried black hole but it only temporarily filled the swirls, still looked good after it tho

Hmm. Sounds like it maybe worth trying some compound first then (meguires ultimate compound is good) , prior to a polish/glaze if your swirls are that bad.

Yeah I'll give that a go with a firm pad to see how it goes, can't feel them with my nail but I could see it needing wet sanded if the compound doesn't work

I was a bit hesitant to use compound as jap paint is supposedly quite soft, but I'm sure it will be ok with the right compound/pad combo.
Either way, good look mate. Keep us posted.

I used simonez rubbing compound on a few off my jap cars over the years with no issues bud, last used on the corner off the GT bumper to remove some random paint that appeared, Tyler would be thee man to advise you properly seeing he owns a body shop :)
Black T cut then Poorboys black hole would probably be what I would do

I've been flat out researching and found this stuff called Optimum hyper polish that is supposed to be good for swirls. Should be here on Saturday. I'll post my results after I've used it ;)

I've been up from 7am making the most of this stunning weather  the results of this polish are amazing, can't fault it at it all!

I went round the car twice after washing and clay bar. Took away 90% of my swirls it's just the deeper one's I would need the optimum compound for but I'm really happy the way it turned out.

Didn't have time to wax it as it was getting way to hot, even the polish was getting hard to buff off.

I'll be using jayswax bubble gum ceramic wax tomorrow morning and give the windows a clean.

WOW....Looks awesome mate! Did a much better job than the black hole then dyou reccon?
Also did you use fine or medium clay? I need to get my ass in gear and get mine done. You've given me the inspiration I needed lol.

Thanks mate :) yeah definitely better than black hole, it's more of a permanent solution but you could always use black hole after polishing.

Not sure what type of clay it was lol just a standard meguiars one lol

Def get it done mate, tho if I was doing it again I'd invest in some proper polishing pads from chemical guys cause I bought cheap ones and after a while they started coming away from the backing material.

https://www.autopia.org/forums/pain...swirls-past-polishing-technology-optimum.html I followed this guys process except only using the polish and still got superb results
