Hi guys,

Well this is my first post after a LONG time, and i made a few changes in my EP82... but now im after “the big one”, a TD04L turbo swap.
I just bought a TD04L Kit... it includes:

-Td04L turbo lol
-oil & water lines
- 2.5’ Down pipe
- JDM sports FMIC
- Exhaust manifold from a 5E engine
-all kind of pipes, hoses and adapters

I also have earlyer mods done:

-ACT stage 2 Flyweel
-*Unkwon Brand* racing clutch
-2.5” exhaust system (well here aint no rules about catalytic converters, CO2 emissions, etc... so i just took all that things off the exhaust system)
- Manual boost controller (set at 10 psi)
- NGK Iridium spark plugs

My next step will be rotating the turbo to fit in with stock rad.

Any advises about the installation? I read a lot about this kind of turbo conversions but just wanna be sure of what im doing, and share a lil bit whit u guys...

here some pics of my car and some of the mods done to it:
GT 92'

when i have a lil bit more time i will post the pics here

see u later

i will be doing this soon, one of the worst parts of the installation will be getting the bolts off ie manifold turbo ext.
iam going to soak all the bolts that need removing with wd40 the day before i do the convertion to loosen the bolts, the last thing i want is to thread or shear a bolt lol

i checked out your pic's on FB man, really nice car you have... give her a bath though lol.

I have a TD04L conversion on my EP91 engine.... it wasnt that difficult, it took us a little more than ONE day to actually start and complete the project and have the car back on the road..

We actually made our own manifold to fit perfectly in my engine bay, however, i did a Top mounted turbo setup...if you'd like, I can maybe post some pics later on this afternoon when I get home and I am able to take some photo's for you.

My suggestion also, is that boost controller you are using, i've had one as well, and I know a few people with them, i dont suggest you increase boost with that boost controller, it isnt that strong and you may end up getting a spike and breaking something.. If you are short on cash, and you need a boost controller, just go with a TurboXS boost controller, the little chrome/silver ones, they are good for taking up to approx 18psi.. However with the TD04L,you wont have to use a boost controller since, you can run stock boost and just adjust the actuator to approx 12psi..but i'm sure you know that you'd need a management to run that kind of boost safely..

I can share some more info with you on this TD04L project if you want, just shout the words.. :)

thanks for the comments...
to jason: thanks man, im sure i will need some help....
about the boost controller, before i had it i just adjusted the boost "my own way", putting a hose between the actuator and the turbo, and in the midle of the hose i just put a clamp. the more tightened the clamp was, more boost! lol.

Well about the boost now, i dont think im going tu run more than 10psi on the TD04 until i get some management as you say

I also aint sure if the exhaust manifold gasket of the 4E fits with the 5E exhaust manifold...

i just went td04 only running .5 bar on jam ecu at the moment the lag is in all the gears really but its not much lag!if your a good driver you should be in lower gear if want to be going fast or racing like! turbo starts spooling up at 3500!
