If you noticed a slight hesitation/stutter in that run, you've got
good ears... THAT has been plaguing me now for the past
couple trips to the track... Last time (Easter Sunday) I thought
it might be fuel being moved away from the fuel pick-up in the
tank which was starving the engine .... the problem seemed to
disappear after I added some gas but, there it was again
today on several runs... including my very first victory in
competition...
In RUN-032, you can hear what sounds like an instant of
what, to me, sounds like 'blow-off valve"... The sound occurs
as TERCEL1 is shifted into 4th... there is an instant when the
tach goes into the redline area and on its way back through
7K there appears to be a very audible pssssst sound?
In this example (RUN-031) TERCEL1 climbs in RPM after the
shift into 3rd.... when the tach reaches 6500 RPM you can hear
what (to me) sounds like a double psssst which is then
followed 500 RPM later (at 7K) by a very definite "stumble"
Is TERCEL1 ill? Open wide and say, "ahhhhhhhhhhhh"
