timing light and measurements

ok standard the bottom pulley is 10 btdc on my timing light i have an advance and i have heard advancing the spark to 2 or 4 degrees will make my engine run a bit better but not det its tits off.

anyone shed any light and let me knw what they have there engine set too

I wanted to find out about this too. I also hope some expert here can tell me what should the total timing be and at what RPM for the 4EFTE.
