thats strange. my hks one will not work unless its wire to the handbrake light. but i suppose if you was to wire to a constant 12v it will work too, only problem would be safty and threat from theft.

maybe the harness you used for your tt linked to the handbrake light signal via the harness its self. while some have a separate wire for hand brake light.

i wired in with a harness but the timer still had a spare wire. it would not work unless this wire was too the handbrake. so im just assuming that may be the problem from my experience.

no mine is not wired up wrong. we have different turbo timers. some may need too go to handbrake some may not. mine did, simle as. i had the exact same issue as madmatt had. it was due to this wire. there was the harness. which pluged in. an earth, which i earthed. and the handbrake wire that stated in the instructions.

TURBO TIMER WILL NOT WORK WITH OUT THIS WIRE.

it will help if you tell us what timer it is and what wires you have?

im assuming you have your handbrake pulled up when you are turning the engine off?

sounds stupid but i did this. was thinking "why the f**k not it work" then realised my handbrake was down. lol.

heres my wiring if this helps. this is based on hks type 0

red = 12 volt constant
green = 12 volt ignition
blue= 12 volt accerssory
black= earth
grey= parking brake

send what back, you dont even know what tt he has????

im trying to help him out by giving the possible wiring. what is a load of bollocks about the wiring??? if he has the correct harness, the only wire he will have left is the handbrake light one. plugging in a harness and connecting one wire.

just because your plugged straight in and worked theres no need to give stupid input. his problem sounds like the problem i had, hence why im trying to advise to help him out.
