Replaced my driver side door hinge today as it was sagging badly (common problem I've been told on these cars). Was a simple job and was able to do it without removing the doors so was a bonus
How it was done:
1) Remove wheel; loosen wheel studs when car is on the ground, jack up and then remove studs and wheel. (NB: place an axle stand or similar under car as it will be up for a while and jacks are dodgy)
2) Remove small piece of skirt on front wing (held on by three 10mm bolts; two on side and one underneath)
3) Remove bolts and plastic clips from under-arch tray (use a small flathead screwdriver to prise off clips; four 10mm bolts with two hidden towards the front of the car)
4) Remove 10mm bolt connecting front bumper to wing
5) Remove six 10mm bolts connecting wing to the body of the car (will be fiddly with the arch trim in the way) Will also need to open the door to get at one from the inside (just above top hinge when you open door)
6) Remove wing and trim in one awkward piece
7) Undo the four 12mm bolts for the top hinge (door closed)
8) Remove old hinge and replace with new hinge; replacing the four 12mm bolts
9) Same process for bottom hinge; tightening up all the bolts
10) Re-fit the wing and arch trim; refitting all bolts and clips
11) Re-fit skirt on wing
12) Fit wheel
13) Lower car and torque up the wheel nuts (130Nm as far as I'm aware)
Will be the same process for the other side except you will need some way to hold open the bonnet once the wing is removed.
Sit back; knowing your sagging doors are one less thing to annoy you :beer:
Any changes that need to be done just let me know; will put up pictures at a more appropriate hour.
