Upgrading the rear brakes help wanted

I've just purchased all the basic parts needed to convert my N/A to disc brakes at the rear and have a few questions for those that have upgraded their rear brakes,

Pads
What pads are a worthwhile upgrade for the rear if at all, these pads should be suitable for road usage?

Discs
I've decided to opt for the 3G 10 groove rear discs but I want to know since the rear discs act as the rear hub do the 3G discs come with new studs fitted or will it be necessary for me to fit a set of studs to them?

Braided brake lines
Am I rite in the assumption that any set of braided lines replace the 2 rubber hoses and the metal hard pipe with 1 single braided line per side?

My apologies for the noob style questions...but its the only way Ill learn.
Thanx for any help

I'd go for mintex pads on the rear personally.

Discs.. my CRN brakes came with new studs but not sure about 3g I imagine so but someone will be able to confirm.

Brake lines, yes your correct they replace the two

Standard pads for the rears, you'll have fun trying to get rear mintex pads.

Yes there's studs on the disc, worth getting new bearings

Rear brakes do squat.

I would have to disagree with you there mate,
While the rear brakes may not do as much to slow down the rear brakes still they recieve a 15% - 20% bias in the braking system (according to some threads I've read on here and other starlet forums).

I want to build a high quality braking system on my starlet both front and rear, without adding a crazy setup to the front and nuthing to the rear.

Big disc conversions to the front without any mods to the rear don't make sense to me.

Please IF anyone thinks differently or if its a proven fact let me know

It is my plan with this project to eventually build and convert my ep to a 5efte of a very high spec and standard, hoping to be comparable to any of the big power builds on here, I first want to upgrade all the supporting areas such as brakes and suspension and transmission.

Now I do intend on upgrading the front dramatically in a few months but I was presented with the opportunity to buy the baisc parts I needed for the rear now,

worth getting new bearings

man you don't have to tell me about getting new bearings....I could show you pic's of bearings that came out of my rear axle after the mullingar meet last summer and you would be afraid.....Now I'm very conscious of any play in bearings or anything in fact.

The bearing were so bad that I had to go away and get a new axle for my car as the threaded end of the axle was worn down by half its original thickness.
