Video editing help

I am sorting out the footage from our track day but there are spots where I am just filmin nothing is there a way I can cut these parts out???

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post but if you want to see yourselfs then I need help asap

I just import my videos into Movie Maker and edit them from there.

Thats what I am doing but I cant work out how to cut out all the dead bits

I can see the timeline. I want to cut out bits off footage I dont now how Texx if you do and your on msn can you add me and talk me through it please??

It will split them up into clips.

You play the clips and under where its previewing click the 'split' to cut bits out you just have to play about with it for abit and then the bits you want just drag them onto the timeline.
