what are forged engines like as a daily to live with

But couldn't I just run low boost for daily and turn it up for drag and track us. What turbo wouldn't be good for 250-300bhp with minimal lag a good evolution td04 or something else

Its not a case of lowering boost levels with a 300bhp starlet to get it to drive good. If your running that kind of power y oull be running bigger injectors stiff clutch lsd etc. Also depening on who you get to map it and what kind of ecu your using is a big factor tohow it behaves daily off boost.

I found the emu wasnt great for getting the car to drive like stock it was still sweet did the job great on boost etc but the difference with a standalone on a day to day drive off boost was massive.

Imo you cant expect a car to drive like stock when its running double the factory bhp

well, imo, it really depends on your set up
a properly built uprated pressure plate with organic disc is usually quite driveable and can handle a fair bit of torque/power. A helical or stock lsd is very good for everyday driving too vs the more race/circuit clutch types

i've experienced emu tuned starlets drive like stock running bigger turbos (td04, t28 sized), bigger injectors (stock, 360/380,cc, 460cc), more power (160whp and much more), good cruise/idle afrs, no kangerooing/missing/hesitating on cruise, etc

the stock head, cams, TB, etc are good for a fair amount of power maybe 350bhp based on what i've seen on ttgt

it really depend on the overall set up you have and getting a good tuner who knows the piggyback/standalone in great detail that you are using to get the most out of it throughout the entire map

can be a bit noisy on a cold morning startup...but like most have said if its built and mapped properly it should be every bit as smooth as a stock engine.
