what other toyota engines can i run in my ep82

hi i have an ep82 non turbo 1995 starlet soliel and my engine is blown and i am looking for a cheap replacement engine that will fit without having to change or make much modifications . . . ... . . .

its a 4efe engine in my starlet as standard,, i was offered an engine out of a 91 / 92 starlet ,, does anybody know if the older starlet eng will fit in

not alot. you have the choice of a 4efe, 5efe, 5efhe or another 4efte.
the n/a engines will need the ecu and the relavant wiring looms to work

ok what would i need to run a standard non turbo 1.3i starlet engine in it

the engine and the engine wiring loom and ecu.

you could possibly get away without the wiring loom if you want to do some rewiring.

would probably be as cheap and alot less hassle just to replace with another turbo engine mate.

i would like to replace it with the turbo engine but a second hand one costs around 900 here and i probably would have to send it to the engine shop to get the valve seals and headgasket done in it as most of the starlet turbo angines where im from have the shit driven outa them

so i wouldnt need to go messing with interior dash loom or any of that, and gearbox will fit straight in too ya?
i can get a standard 1.3efi engine an loom and ecu for 200 , is that all i need

any particular years or engine codes i shuould look out to get

it will all fit together but its not a straight forward swap. to make it easy, you would need the dash loom. if you stick to a 4efe from an ep80 as apposed to an ep91 then it will make things easier.
there will inevitably be some wiring alterations needed somewhere along the line.

if your going to the hassle of doing that i would try and get hold of a 5efhe.

what part of ireland are you in??? in the north good well running engines go for about £600, ive jus got an engine taking out of mine it need valves replaced and head gasket done. he was charging me 500 for new engine.

I seen a scrap dealer sell a 4efe engine to a lad for €120 while I was there picking up a part for my own car

The 4efe came it the following corolla's also
