What temps are seen at the manifold?

if its dark and im wot for some time:p
it's glow in the dark an red glowing manifolt, i think around 800-900C ?

well is you speak to member '59bhp' he can help you as he did his dissertation on manifolds aswell. I remember him posting up threads about it so search would be good

just use a temp guage and get some readings after a drive.

I've been told by some people in the know that the colour of this indicates a skin temperature of around 900 Degrees Celcius. It wouldn't be much more than 1000, Stainless Steel melts at 1500 and I'd imagine it gets a bit soft at 1000+.

This also goes to further highlight my point that bi-metal manifolds (ie, Stainless runners and mild flanges) makes for a shit design and promotes cracking.
