Unless your current suspension is leaking/sagging I would replace all the bushes with polybush type, add a rear anti roll bar and go from there.
Having coilovers there are endless possibilites to adjusting them to suit your driving style and how you want it to handle. Get the fixed components first, if it still doesn't handle how you like, then go for coilovers where your adjustments can be increased.
