Whistling noise when accelerating

Happy new year guys.

I'm facing a common (i believe) problem with my Glanza V. When accelerating, from about 2500RPM as turbo spools up, i start hearing a pitch increasing whistling noise. At ~3000RPM and above the noise's pitch level remains the same.

I checked IC's pipes, and they don't seem to be the problem, BOV either. At the same time, my car feels a bit slower.

After hearing carefully, I believe that the noise is coming from somewhere low at passenger's side engine bay.

When revving at stand still, there is no whistling noise at all.

My Glanza's engine is stock without any mods and well maintained with almost 100.000Km (soon will go for a big service I guess), just an aftermarket BOV.

Sorry for creating a new thread for an issue discussed several times, but I was hoping giving as specific information as possible, some expert could help me pin point the problem, rather than looking in the dark.

Thank you in advance.

OMG just seen where ya from, i was born there...

Find a mate that you TRUST and get them so sit in car and put it in first high rev's an slowly let cluth to biteing point while you have ya head under bonnet...
You can prob hear the sound underload best..

Like i said you need a friend you can TRUST to do this with you not jus ya missis..:haha:

I done this with a mate an pin pointed a boost leak...

Have you checked where the air feed pipe (EFI pipe) connects to the intake side of the turbo? Its a bit of a bitch to get at but mine came loose before and made a weird sound when driving.

Other than that I would double check all IC pipes and airbox etc.

Have a quick look at the 4th manifold stud on the head, over the passenger side. The 4efte is prone to cracking here and it whistles when driving.

at stand still u dont have a noise so it would suggest a boost leak as the noise is heard when creating boost.. There are some gaskets between piping, check to see these gaskets are sealed properly becuz it can cause the whistling noise as i have gone thru that before.

It would be safer to put it on axles stands and check it under load I wouldnt recommend letting someone put the car under load when your standing in front of it you might want to have an ambulance on speeddial......:p
