Whos to blame?

Right, as some of you know, Ishaqs been having fair bit of trouble recently with his car

Initially he agreed a deal with "Fern", buying her Accident Damaged Starlet. When asked, she replied saying turbo was fine, and engine was running sweeet and no issues, and she assured him there were no problems, so as anyone would do he agreed and left her some money to get it dropped off...

In the meantime he was in talks with few people as to getting the actual work done, spoke to a good friend of mine who said he would do it, but Ishaq was abit sceptical coz the guy specialises in Nissans.. So he got in touch with Tuning Developments who assured him they'd have it done for before christmas as it was only a couple days job.. then they said after christmas, and then before new years, and then just after, but then got it around mid january..

during the time the car was there, Ishaq phoned them up ample amounts of time to ask them to check the engine, asked them numerous times, to which he always got a reply saying, "yeah we'll check, yeh..." blah de blah...
but suddenly it needed a new cambelt so he was told they'd supply and fit one! and he agreed..
he had left with them the front engine mount and has asked them to fit that as the starlets only come with 3 mounts (correct me if im wrong), and after he collected his car, he was told, oh there was a bolt missing so we couldn't fit it.. WTF!!!??

now, after the car was supposedly done, it had to be take to an exhaust place to get the downpipe customised to suit the turbo, and he had to pay out his pocket (fair or not)? We collected the car next day from exhaust place, and the car wouldn't seem to drive, just very hesitant and jerky.. so we popped back to tuning development to ask them, to which he said, oh i've got a car which im working on, when i've finished with that then i'll have a look at your car, which took a day, so we collected the next day...

Next day came, we went to get car, he took it for a testt drive, 1st time the car drove as a car in yonks .. but turbo was barely boosting past .3 bar, to which the guys said, oh "turbo's tight, needs to be freed up" now that got me thinking, if a turbos tight, its F***ED.. coz if it don't spin freely maybe coz no oil there or for whatever reason, but it should free up after couple of miles, but it obviously DIDN'T! at this point personally i thought his car before the turbo conversion felt faster, only difference was he had a dump valve (which sounds EPIC), so the next day, we swapped the turbo over for another one he bought, but this one wouldn't boost pas ~.1 bar.. so he fiddled around with some of the vaccum pipes and it would boost to ~.4 bar so turbo wasn't fucked (or was it?) but he was told that would damage the turbo...

after getting his dyno figures we popped back to TD to discuss his shit results(frankly) and they said it wasn't getting good figures coz of his exhaust system but when i asked TD why they weren't putting the starlet exhaust system on his corrolla, they said its the same.. so the exhaust system was NOT to blame for the shit figures?

now very recently, Ishaq had a fear that his headgasket was about to pop, which could have been thought upon had TD done the compression test Ishaq asked them numerous amount of time.. and now the knocking on his bottom end..

So i called FERN up last night, this is how the convo went

Me: "how did the car run when you had it"
Fern: "fine, no issues"
Me: "and after the accident, how was it"
Fern: "oh it was the same, no problems at all"
Me: "so it drove the same?"
Fern: "yes"
Me: "so how many miles did you do after the accident"
Fern: "0miles, didn't drive it"
Me: "but i thought you said it drove the same after the accident"
Fern: "no i meant, it would start fine"
Me: "oh, really? so, what was the turbo like after the accident"
Fern: "it was good, no smoke, spooling fine, boosting fine"
Me: "but i thought you never drove it, how do you know how it was boosting"
Fern: "coz when we'd start the car, we'd rev the engine to see if it was good and it spooled"
Me: "but that means it wasn't boosting as it should coz you weren't driving it, so you don't know if it WAS fine after accident"
Fern: "yeah..."
Me: "but you told Ishaq that turbo's fine etc, so you lied"
Fern: "NO!"
Me: "yes, you said it was fine, but you hadn't checked or got it checked"
Fern: "erm, dunno"
Me: "so you say it was boosting fine before accident?"
Fern: "Yes, boosting perfect"
Me: "so what boost was it running? .3bar? .4bar? .5bar?"
Fern: "im not some petrol head you know, how am i meant to know what boost its running, just coz i got a turbo car doesn't mean i know what boost its running"
Me: "erm, yes you should know..."

The convo carried on, mostly here just F'ing and Swearing etc etc..



To sum it all up, FERN sold Ishaq a fucked up engine/car, lied throughout (or didn't tell/know the truth)
TD took the piss getting the car done (bitching about the weather etc etc)
first time it was "done", it wasn't, they'd fucked up something..
second time, "turbo was tight"
*this is what really pissed me off*, they agreed on a price with Ishaq, but then when it came for Ishaq to pay, told him to pay 2/300 extra coz it was half way through january and the VAT had gone up, FUCKING HELL, ITS YOUR FUCKING FAULT THE CAR WAS FINISHED IN JANUARY, WHY THE FUCK SHOULD WE PAY FOR IT????!!!!???!!!!!!

ALL IN ALL, a SHIT SHIT SHIT service from Tuning Developments, and i will make it my aim to disgrace them as much as i can for there APPALLING service and fuck ups..

LASTLY, going back to my first words, "Whos to blame?"
