windows 7 LG 51" resolution problem

Right guys just hooked my desktop up to my 51" LG tv.
Problem is it automatically puts the res on 1080 max which puts the windows borders just outside the parameters of the screen.
And if you take it down to the next res the windows desktop is about an inch inside the border of the tv.
Ideas?

Which graphic card do you have in the PC ?
There are resizing options for nvidia card drivers, but you always loss a bit.
A video card with an HDMI output will set the size automatically.

This overscan problem effects all Nvidia cards, I switched to an ATI card with an hdmi out to solve this, on my old Nvidia setup i did the following :
Nvidia Control Panel — first change the resolution to one appropriate for the TV (720p or 1080p) then look for the 'adjust size and position' settings and shrink the image to fit the screen.

Some of the driver releases worked great and there was enough adjustment to fix the overscan completly but every so often Nvidia released a driver update they usually fecked this up leaving you with part of the picture missing again.
