year of engine

hello,, does anyone know how to work out the year of the engine by the stamp.. i need to get pistons for the engine!!! help!!!

i need over size pistons but there is 3 different types from Toyota, so i need to find out the year of the engine... i have the number 2 on the pistons
ive taken out..

i'm not sure about stock oversized pistons...they come stock marked 1, 2, 3 with varying sizes

if you need a much bigger size, then you may need to get forged pistons--74.5mm or 75mm

i assume if you gave toyota the engine number, they might be able to tell you the year
the oem piston size is normally stamped into the engine block at the top where the head gasket sits

however, given the age of these engines and many other possibilities, it may be best to get the tolerances checked if you want to be sure

Toyota don't make "oversize" pistons
