Head gasket gone,help-

Ive only just rebuild my engine,driving normal through town,car starts running on three

Then comes a nice tappy nocking noise

yes its youve already worked it out

Its blown again

Compression is 20 psi on number 3 which is where the new piston went in

One thing that confuses me though,when it went before it wasnt making the knocking noise

any idieas

might of broke a valve spring and then bent the valve or it broke and it's sitting ontop of piston. i would take rocker of and and a look turn it over my hand, if it all looks ok take head back off and see whats happend

Take the lid off, and turn it over by hand. If it all appears to working fine at that point, strip it.

pretty unlikely to have snapped a valve spring just cruising it around town, i would take the head off and have a look

i did fix everything that was needed,hence why it was driving fine

ill be taking the head off in abit,ive checked the timming etc but all is ok

i think he means you may aswell give a full rebuild, as obviously something is causing this piston to give way.

Mate. You have worse luck then my mate i swear. He bent a rod and his next to engines blew up within 2 weeks of each other.

I hope its just a little stupid problem
